What is a Sunroom

A sunroom is primarily an outdoor resting place within a homestead. It provides you with the chance to relax outdoors and still avoid the effects of intemperate weather conditions and the disturbance from insects. You can, as often as possible, create your vacation in your sunroom, thanks to the tranquillity and calmness it has.

Planning on how to use your available space helps determine which type of room you will have because each kind has its precise purposes. Conventional rooms, like kitchens, require standard roofs, windows, permanent integrated heating/cooling systems, among others.

A sunroom, on the other hand, is simple, and thanks to its flexibility, they are not exclusive to just resting and enjoying the beauty of nature, instead it can also be used for fun activities like exercising, using the spa and entertaining yourself in various ways. The wall-to-wall windows installed in the sunrooms ensure you have a wide-range view of the outside and that you are protected from harsh weather. The insects are also kept away by the screen systems, which also allow in cool breezes. Lastly, the interior environment is kept favorable by the thermal engineering and design system to ensure you are comfortable throughout the different seasons and years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you enclose an existing porch/patio space or does the room have to be a complete addition?

Whether it is an existing space that needs to be enclosed or a totally new addition, we always have what it takes. We manufacture everything from zero; all you want will be tailor-made to meet your design specifications. Our work is to make your dream come true as it is, without making any alterations. So if you want a screen room, or if it is a complete sunroom, or perhaps you just want an enclosure for an existing room, leave it to us!

What kind of warranty does my sunroom come with?

Amazing! All our sunrooms, solariums and screen rooms come with a lifetime limited warranty. The warranty covers all the products we make. This is because we are always confident in our quality. Your design consultant is always there to give you more information on the warranty.

What is the insulating factor in your roofs?

Our roofs come in two different thicknesses. We have 3” roof with an R-value of R-15 and 6” thickness roof with about R-30.

Why should my spouse or significant other be at the consultation?

Because our design and manufacture are uniquely customized for each project, there is always a need for a variety of ideas. Having all relevant people or future occupants contribute their views means there will be a wide range of opinions to base the design on. This way, everybody’s views are captured and incorporated in the final design, which is most likely going to be better than if it was one person’s idea. So whether it is the color, or the design, or even the materials for the frame, each potential user or stakeholder in the project will have a part in the project.

Why should I use insulated glass?

Insulated glass gives your new sunroom extended seasons and enhances the new addition’s heating and cooling properties.

How to Install Sunroom

Put against standard room addition, sunrooms can be installed in far less time and cost, and they can be installed on approved foundations like deck and concrete. A day or two is enough to have a sunroom up and running, which is way less compared to the weeks or months required for a conventional room addition.

Lower tax is also an advantage brought by sunrooms in comparison to a standard room addition. While it is not possible to pass 65% of glass area with standard rooms, sunrooms can be designed with an even higher glass percentage than 65%. A permanent heating or cooling system is also not a necessity.

Thanks to the differences in code, design and, of course, the purpose of sunrooms, lower tax is attached to their square footage, which is usually way below that of the standard room additions. Though low, the taxes usually differ in different areas, making it essential that you check with your local tax authority.
